“All those stories looking down on me”
October 30, 2012
Waking the Morning After Sandy — with Bonnie Raitt’s lyrics and Denise Levertov’s poem.
…thinking of those being transferred in the middle of the night by ambulance from NYU Medical Center, and those working to take care of them.
…of all the quieter stories of the kindness and helpfulness of ordinary heroes that will come to us in the next few days.
Aren’t there annunciations
of one sort or another
in most lives?
— Denise Levertov
